Before you start
- You can submit a Notice of Disposal (NOD) online only if the buyer is from SA. If the buyer is from interstate, you must submit a paper NOD to Service SA instead.
- A NOD notifies Service SA that you no longer own the vehicle, even if it was gifted.
- Submitting a NOD may protect you from being held responsible for the buyer’s parking or driving offences. Keep a copy for your records.
- Important: A NOD does not transfer the registration. If the buyer is from SA, the vehicle remains in your name until they complete the transfer and pay the required fees.
